TIEC, SVC & Engineering of Ain Shams establish a new Technological Incubator
| The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center TIEC in accordance with its vision to be a regional center of innovation and initiative spirit, has recently began in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University and Smart Village Company establishing a new technology incubator at the college. The Incubator is expected to accommodate around ten companies, and in order to truly benefit from the creative ideas and use it to create an added value for the national economy, the operating team of the Incubator will be either students or graduates or professors of the faculty of Engineering. The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center will lead the management and supervision of the incubating process while Smart Village Company will manage the building of the incubator, and on the other hand, the choosing process of whom will be incubated shall be left to the Faculty of Engineering through a specialized committee. Mr. Ashraf Farghaly, CEO of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center assured that establishing the incubator is an example of the needed spirit of cooperation between the public /private sectors and educational institutions in order to develop a culture of business innovations and make use of Information Technology and Communications in all fields. Farghaly confirmed that the center always gives a hand to youth and embrace them till they reach technical maturity and capability of competing in national and international markets. Eng. Amr Abo Allam CEO of the Smart Villages Company confirmed that the company saves no effort to embrace and sponsor any creative activity especially in the area of communication and information technology, and exert all possible efforts to support projects that serve this purpose, and out of this vision. SVC was so keen to participate in the technological incubator project because of the great opportunity given to students to execute their innovations in real world. Eng Amr added that we all hope that this incubator becomes a cornerstone to another incubators in all Egyptian Universities to make creativity and innovation part of the basic system that contribute to the future of technological development and be the main factor in the future. Dr. Sherif Hamad the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering assured that the new technological incubator will work to spread the competitive spirit among the applicants to produce the best creative ideas that will contribute in the future in developing and supporting the technological infrastructure in Egypt. |
